What we do
Our aim is to make the below services available to as many young people, that identify within at least one minority group, as possible. After the application is made, we will call to discuss what service you need and why in further detail and barring limited availability of resources, we will do our utmost to provide a high quality service. This allows successful applicants to produce high quality content, get expert advice from one of the mentors or receive exposure to a whole new audience for their work.
We are able to offer the following services to Young people that successfully make an application, for any one of the following services:
Discounted Studio Access
Discounted Sound Engineer
1 on 1 Mentoring session with an industry professional
‘Experience days’ on the set of successful podcast or radio show*
Magazine Artist spotlight feature
Press Release headshots (in collaboration with Be Seen Project)
Professional Studio Space
As part of the project, we currently have agreement with 5 different studio spaces across London. All have agreed to provide the studio space for a set amount of time each month, at discounted rates for young people that come through Be Heard Project.
There will also be the option to have an Sound Engineer, again at a discounted cost but subject to availability, if this is also required.
These spaces can be used for either music recording, podcasting or radio styled interviews.
mentoring
For those who are seeking advice, support, answers to questions about the industry or understanding of how to develop their craft – we are able to offer a mentoring session with one of our professionals for between 30-60minutes (during the pandemic this is likely to be over video call).
Digital Publications
We have also struck up agreement with two leading digital publications, to feature work from young people that come through the project. With a combined online engagement of over 4million, this opens up exposure of a young persons work to a whole new audience.
In the future we are hoping to offer the following, depending on funding and ongoing discussions to develop working partnerships:
Wide range of experience days, across all of audio arts
On going mentorship, beyond the current 1 call set up
Group workshops to share professional knowledge and skills
Continued spotlight features in international publications for young artists
